I just read the article of Purple Songs and Fly in Family Circle, and the pictures of the children are just beautiful and inspiring to see all beautiful happy faces. It nice to know that there are wonderful people like yourself helping children to feel happy again.

Not only am I an adult cancer survivor, but I am also a songwriter and singer. This project moves me to tears, but more than that, it makes me want to help others do something like this. You are an inspiration. We all know that cancer takes more than physical tolls upon us. Anything that helps to let go of the anxieties, express feelings, hopes, fears, is good. Thank you for this great effort and gift to people who need it. And, for those of us who are given the chance to listen.

I think that this is a really God given talent and dream and a new hope for our children and i wish it were to be implemented in Africa for the orphaned children as a result of HIV/AIDS.Keep up the good work though.and may the Lord Almighty bless you.

This sounds like a great project. My Step Dad Edgar Popp had a son, Eddie who died of leukemia about 30 years ago. I know that if this program had been at Texas Children's back then Eddie would have loved it. I never got to know Eddie or meet him. Good work! I know these kids need some form of release. Thanks.

I just checked out the site (had not looked at it in a while). I wanted to say thank you, Anita, for having the vision and the devotion to making Purple Songs Can Fly become such an awesome outlet for the children receiving care at Texas Children's Hospital. Music can evoke feelings and emotions, music can heal. Personally, I think that music makes the world go round. I know that Gracie enjoyed writing, singing, and recording. And in doing so, my husband and I have yet another piece of Gracie to cherish forever. There has been talk that Gracie would like to record another song. She says she wants to sing about food-the best time to record this one would be while Gracie is on the steroids! HaHa! Anyway, many thanks to you, Anita.

Thank you for being so patient and understanding with my son, Jonathan. Because of his autism, it is so hard for him to verbalize his feelings. He now goes around the house and constantly sings his song, "I hate shots."
