Being a nurse at Texas Children's Hospital, I run into many of these kids on a daily bases. It is so wonderful to see each one of these children smile and to hear each voice have so much enthusiasm and pride. Thank you for making life special for our children and for giving them something they can forever be proud of.

Music is a joy to ones heart... and to be given the chance to share ones dreams and fears and love is one of the most special gifts that you could give..I am so proud of Purple Songs Can Fly for reaching out to these young lives and taking the pain and fear away from them even if it is only for one day for that one day will give them something to hold on to when they are faced with cemo and all the other meds that they must go through...

Children of Purple Songs Can Fly; you have touch my heart with your songs and your beautiful voices I hope you will continue to sing, sing loud and sing stong for music has always been one of the best meds for the heart..may God Bless and Comfort you through you good days and bad days...Keep up the fight,Know that you are loved by many and that you and your families will be in the prayers of many people that have had the pleasure to hear your songs...

This project is awesome! I'm happy that you all are dedicated to make children who happen to have cancer feel more at ease. What you do is making them feel that there is more to them then just having cancer. Thank you!

Hello to all you children. I just listened to your inspirational music. I am going to pray for you all each and every day. What an idea....our church CCC or the Warehouse, www.touchandchange.com have a dream. www.mychristmasdream.com we pray we can have the project done by 2012...for all terminally ill children to have a place to celebrate Christmas with us any time of the year. Would love to work with your center for us to make this a friendly place for terminal children and their families to visit and be comfortable....the MUSIC is such an awesome way to let them express their inner feelings. God Bless you all.
May the Love of Our Lord keep the kids and staff in His Loving arms.

This is amazing--I would love to broaden the scope and open the next Purple Songs Can Fly Project at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee!

Absolutely amazing idea! I was diagnosed with cancer just a few months before my 21st birthday. My 6 year old son was diagnosed with leukemia only days after he turned 2. He began six very long and difficult months of chemotherapy seven days after he was diagnosed. The one thing I did notice is he loved it when I sang to him, still does, but it truly seemed to soothe him. I really believe music warms the heart and calms the soul and I am proud to announce he is doing wonderful now and has his check-ups at the survivors clinic! I pray that one day there will be no person, child or adult, who will have to suffer from this horrible thief called cancer. You are giving these children a wonderful opportunity, the chance to heal and overcome. May God bless you all in everything you are doing because it's a wonderful thing!

February 20, 2009

This is a very worthy outreach. My mother died 10 years ago this Feb. 15th at age 92. She had a very loving heart & adored the color purple. If you have not heard about Children's Healthcre of Atlanta, they have a similar can & blood disorders wing. This is the link: http://www.choa.org/default.aspx?id=244
I do this b/c I believe you could get donations for your program by perhaps coming to Atlanta for a day to write somgs with the children here suffering from the same disorders here in Atlanta. WSB radio 750 would likely help with air time. I will pass along the information whenever I get the chance. This is a wonderful piece of our collective hearts. Thank you.

February 20, 2009

This is truly a wonderful idea. Having had cancer as an adult, I know how devastating it is. I can only imagine the impact this has on children. Your program has given children the opportunity to express creatively themselves and to "forget" what is a daily ordeal for a period of time.

Paula Greene

February 20, 2009

I saw your story on the nightly news with Brian Williams 2/20/2009. It was very moving. My husband is a cancer survivor. I hope for the same especially for children. It's a terrible thing they must go through especially at those young ages.

Just saw the piece on NBC Nightly News. What an inspiration these children are to those of us who are supposed to be older and wiser. They are truly blessed with so many talents that might normally be hidden. The saying about when a door closes another one opens is so true.

January 4, 2009

I came across your website and just wanted to say how much I admire what you are doing to make the lives of children better. These kids face such intense and extreme difficulties and I'm sure the time you spend with them in creating a song gets their minds off of their illness. As a musician myself, I am very inspired by you to look into doing something similar in my area (Philadelphia/Southern New Jersey). Thanks and Happy New Year. Keep doing what you are doing and God Bless You.

January 4, 2009

What an awe inspiring, spirit building, memory making, jaw dropper of a project! Our only child, Jamie, died September 13th, 2007 of Rhabdomyosarcoma at our home, in our arms. He was treated at University of California San Francisco but we live in Nevada. We were gone from home for so long but he fought the battle with everything he had. He was used to fighting though, as he was born with Spina Bifida and spent the first 4 wks of his life at TCH in the Neo Natal unit. He was a constant patient there for 2 yrs, before we moved out west. He would have LOVED this project. I wish you could expand it to all the chilfen's hospitals. I know I am going to forward your website onto the Child Life people at UCSF, so they can learn about it. These songs are precious, in more ways than one. I wish I had one to hear my son's voice. Thank you for making them.

Hi.
What you guys are doing there is amazing. God must want to work in that place. I might go to states soon and i hope i get time to go and visit the hospital.
Continue what you're doing, and point to the kids that there is hope, and remember that the real hope is in our Lord Jesus.
I'll remember you all in my prayers. May the Lord bless you and keep you.
This also comes from a guy that miraculously survived leukemia.
God bless.

Hi, Anita, I work at TCH as a nurse and I love the music the kids sing. If I could get a copy of one of the CD's, I might be able to get an Irish musical group to take it on
their spring tour. They had already left for the fall tour when I asked the first time. They did 50 cities in 70 days so the CD would do a lot of traveling. They are now back home in Ireland. I would be willing to buy a CD if they are available for purchase. Thanks.

What a brilliant idea. I wish Childrens Hospital in L.A. would allow such a thing. They don't have music facilities at all. I volunteer there playing music for the kids and frankly no one there has any vision or creativity. It is just a job to them. I have asked about similar projects for the kids there and they always say there is no money, which just isn't so. May God Bless you for what you are doing.

As I was waiting in the local hospital lobby for xrays I came across an article about Purple Songs Can Fly in a magazine. I didn't get a chance to read the whole article so I copied down the url for when I got home. I'm sooooooo glad that I did. The songs from the children are great! I will be telling other people about your site and hopefully donations will start coming in to keep this project going. I would love to see this go to other children hospitals.
