Andria Levitt gives Benefit Concert - May 18, 2008

In front of a packed house of nearly 100 people at Ovations on May 18th, Purple Songs Can Fly Founders Circle member Andria Levitt performed a solo benefit concert raising more than $2,200 for the Purple Songs Can Fly Project. Andria played more than one hour of beautiful music. It was a grand event and on behalf of PSCF and the kids at Texas Children's Hospital, many thanks to Andria for coordinating, performing and promoting the event and thanks to all who attended for their generous contributions!

Astronaut Scott Parazynski visits today!!! - March 12, 2008

Astronaut Scott flew 55 songs from the first year of the Purple Songs Can Fly Project into space on the Discovery Space Shuttle.
Compiled on 2 CDs, the songs were returned today to the Texas Children's Cancer by Scott...all signed and ready to be framed for the studio.

Scott met many of the children whose songs flew with him and gave an incredible presentation about his journey into space.

Zachary wrote a beautiful song, "Fly Above the Sky" and presented it to Scott as a thank you from Purple Songs Can Fly. Listen to Zachary's song on the music page.

It was a great thrill to have Scott visit the Cancer Center and the Purple Songs Can Fly studio!!

The New York Times Visits Purple Songs Can Fly! - January 6, 2008

To start the year off, award winning reporter, Ralph Blumenthal from the New York Times, visits the Purple Songs Can Fly studio on January 2, 2008.

Lots of new songs in Nov. & Dec. - December 31, 2007

A young boy writes a tribute to his girlfriend, "I'm So Happy You Are With Me", and a young girl visits from Arkansas to write a tribute song to her sister called, "B.I.G. Love".

A teenage boy writes a beautiful song called, "Love Power" all about the power of falling in love.

A young girl writes a song called "Big Family" all about her wonderful family, and another writes a song for Christmas called, "What Does Christmas Mean to You?" all about the meaning of Christmas.

Two sisters write and record a song together about breaking up with a boyfriend and a young girl writes about being a Super Hero.

July Songs are Fun! - July 25, 2007

A song about reminding a brother & sister to be nice, a song about not eating fish, and a song called "Techno is My Lifeline" were all written and recorded in July.

Purple Songs Can Fly Ribbon Cutting. - January 24, 2007

The Purple Songs Can Fly Project holds it's official ribbon cutting for the new permanent studio at Texas Children's Cancer Center.
