"I'm An American Cancer Soldier" — Mary Jo, 8

I'm an American cancer soldier
I've been through lots of shots
Fights with my family, hospital stays
Difficult times along the way

I've even had fights with myself
Cried and sometimes whimpered
I've had fights with my Mom and Dad
I've yelled and lost my temper

It feels good to be a survivor
No more chemo is a relief
It feels good to be a survivor
School all day, I'm cancer free

I'm an American cancer soldier
'Cause now I'm excited and healthy
I can jump up and down and do more stuff
I'm finished with all the things that are tough

Now I get to go Splashway
And slide on the fastest slide
I get to swim with the dolphins too
Going to Hawaii with my family soon

It feels good to be a survivor
No more chemo is a relief
It feels good to be a survivor
School all day, I'm cancer free

I'm an American cancer survivor
