why give?
Purple Songs Can Fly is very grateful to Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers for their belief in our programs, for providing the physical space for our recording studios, and for funding the annual costs of the studios' utilities.
The ongoing programs and administrative costs of Purple Songs Can Fly, however, are funded largely through the generosity of individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Private support alone accounted for 96% of total revenue for Purple Songs Can Fly in 2019. That generous support enabled Purple Songs Can Fly to:
-
write and record 335 original songs with the children
-
record our 2,500th purple song
-
share our Purple Lullabies compilation CD written and sung by pediatric cancer patients and survivors
-
expand our current songwriting programs at Texas Children's Cancer and Hematology Centers' Main Campus and West Campus and continue introducing our new program at Texas Children's Hospital's Woodlands Campus using a portable recording studio
-
share our documentary feature film, Journey To Hope, starring six pediatric cancer survivors, selected for over 50 film and award festivals worldwide and winning more than 20 awards
In 2020, Purple Songs Can Fly aims to:
-
positively affect the lives of an increasing number of children at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Centers through its songwriting and recording programs
-
continue providing our Purple Lullabies compilation CD each year to the families of the 700+ babies and toddlers at Texas Children's Hospital touched by cancer
-
create a permanent in-hospital recording studio at Texas Children's Hospital's Woodlands Campus
-
share our Journey to Hope documentary feature film with a wider audience
-
increase our songwriting staff to serve both the outpatient and inpatient populations at Texas Children's Hospital's Main, West, and Woodlands campuses
-
collaborate with The Periwinkle Arts in Medcine Program's Making a Mark exhibit on a special project celebrating Childhood Cancer Awareness
