Aaron Kaufman,

Aaron joined Purple Songs Can Fly as an intern in the Summer of 2008 after reading the Purple Songs feature in The New York Times. After graduating in 2009 from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota with a degree in Economics and Cross Cultural Studies, Aaron interned again for Purple Songs Can Fly that Summer, and then permanently moved to Houston to be with Purple Songs in 2010.

Aaron won the BMI John Lennon Songwriting Scholarship in 2008, as well as the NPR Whad’Ya Idol competition for his songwriting. He has released three solo CDs as well as many others with bands. In 2010, Aaron teamed up with former Purple Songs Can Fly singer/songwriter, Tricia Fox, and founded folk/pop band Edmund Evans.  Aaron currently lives in New York City, but returns periodically to facilitate special songwriting projects for Purple Songs Can Fly.
